BPC-157

BPC-157 is a 15 amino acid peptide studied since 1993, mostly around tissue repair and gut health. It's become one of the most talked-about compounds in recovery and longevity.

In April 2026 FDA removed it from Category 2. On July 23, FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted to recommend it for compounding. Once FDA finalizes that rule, it becomes available through licensed pharmacies.

BPC-157 is a peptide, meaning a short chain of amino acids. It's synthetic, but it's based on a protective sequence your body already makes in the digestive tract. Researchers have been studying it since 1993, mostly around how tissue repairs itself and how the gut heals. It's picked up a lot of attention recently in recovery and longevity.

BPC-157 is among the more heavily studied peptides in the recovery space. A 2025 systematic review catalogued 544 published studies from 1993 to 2024 across muscle, tendon, ligament, and bone. Investigators have examined its role in angiogenesis through VEGF signaling, growth hormone receptor upregulation, nitric oxide modulation, and the FAK-paxillin pathway. A 2024 review reported pleiotropic activity with no identified lethal dose. A Phase II trial in ulcerative colitis reported no toxicity. Most of that work is laboratory and animal research. Human clinical data is limited, which is why this belongs in a program with clinical oversight rather than sourced on your own.

BPC-157 comes in two forms — a once- or twice-daily subcutaneous injection, or an oral tablet. Your clinician picks the form that fits you and sets the dose and duration. With the injection, rotate sites to help minimize irritation; sometimes it's placed near the area of concern. Courses may last several weeks to months, depending on your plan.

Yes, with care. Keep it in original packaging and carry your prescription details. Refrigerated injectable vials need a cooler pack; tablets travel easily at room temperature.
